Evolution mag drill

Been given a evolution 110volt mag drill motor only runs for 2to 3 seconds turn it off back on same again any one had a look at the control board

dumb question, why would it need a control board...........mine is just on and off switch.......just asking........Frank

Don't know why they designed it like that there is a 50mm square board in side it is 110volt unit, 3 suggestions switch mode PSU to run drill motor at 240 (the most unlikely), some sort of constant speed TQ unit, (unlikely) soft start board (most likely)

How thick is the steel your sticking it to
They have a lift switch to make them turn off if they loose magnetic contact or are only on thin steel they think they've. Come unstuck

Very basic board shouldn't be too bad to fix.

Have you checked the brushes?

I think it’s so they can’t turn on without the magnet on.

Looks simple...I avoid repairing anything with multi layers. This looks pretty straightforward...any idea what the chip code is as the pic isn't good enough to see it....that will usually indicate what the board might be doing.

Haven't looked that closely yet it has anti stall circuit I notice & it appears to be reacting as if it has stalled
