Evolution chop saw blades?

I bought one of the big Evolution bladed chop saws, it's quite a beast but looked at the blade after a few months of minimum use and noticed a few of the teeth tips have gone? What causes this and how many teeth tips gone is classed as the blade been knackered?

just steel 40mm x 40mm angle x 3mm

It's usually caused by the workpiece moving. I changed mine when a lot of effort was needed to press down to make the cut.

This was before going back to a bandsaw!!!

its easy to chip the teeth of a carbide blade cutting metal if stops cutting or is hard its knacked

ok thanks I always use the vice to hold the workpiece and just let it cut through on it's own steam really

I ain't done many cuts, around 40 I suppose in total

which works out to around £1.60 a cut!

Always think angle is tougher on the blade, give it plenty time try almost holding the blade off the metal

edit. It should last a lot longer than that.

I always cut angle on an angle so it's not cutting a flat..read somewhere it prolongs blade wear?

alwys use wd40 lasts ages

That's how I cut mine also not lost any teeth on my blades maybe it was a dodgy blade.i always lube it well

I have one that has been used intermittently for quite a few years; it has chucked a couple of teeth and now grabs the workpiece. I’ve been told the teeth can be fixed by eg the saw doctor. I think the blade is still fairly sharp.
I wouldn’t expect this to have happen be after a few months.

Done any stainless? Just a few cuts will kill their blades.
Also hitting the workpiece too fast is prone to break teeth. This applies to all metal cutting carbide blades not just the ones from Evolution.

I'm currently running a Hitachi blade in my Evolution and it seems to hold better or it's just me learnt the lesson...
