Eurocylinder Door Handle

Just moved into a new house and a bit stumped by the door locks. We have wooden doors, front and back so have mortice locks, front also has mortice deadlock, but they accept eurocylinders. Never seen these before. looking to buy new door handles as current ones are a bit tired but not having any luck in finding any as all eurocylinder door handles I can find are for plastic doors. Would also like to have door handles that can only be removed from inside the property but think im going to have to settle for what ever i can find really. Also, front door deadlock chrome cover keeps falling off so would like another to replace it to stop the lock cylinder being so exposed. I was thinking about putting a thumb turn cylinder on one of the front door locks as id like to be able to lock/unlock the front door quickly without having to look for keys or leave key in lock.

Does anyone know where i could get such door handles from?

And does anyone think its a bad idea to put a thumb turn lock on front door?

I always have a thumb turn on the front door. I like the idea that I can get out quickly if there's a fire without having to search about in the smoke, for the keys!

That was part of my thinking but there is also a deadbolt at the bottom of the door so that doesnt help incase of a fire.

The holes must relate to their current position or you risk a lot of messing and swapping. Change the whole lock cylinder for an anti bump lock (look on the net at bump keys and you will see why) always change the locks on a new house you never know who has had access to the old keys. Phone round locally, get the screwdriver out and get in the car IMO some local window fabricator will be able to help, its hard getting the right ones on the net etc.. I shouldn't fit a panic knob that you talk of personally as there are known risks, if your bothered just use some bluetack or similar and pop a key up in the top corner of the casing (very good on windows this trick) or leave the key in the door if you have no letter plate to access it from the outside.

I don't see the issue with handle fastenings on the outside as the screw that actually holds the two together is only removable from indoors, unfortunately there are still ways of opening that door no matter what you do but that's perhaps better not talked about on the net.

well, ive fitted a new anti snap and bump cylinder with a thumbturn. Like people say, if they want to get into my house, they will find a way, just have to try and make too much of a pain in the ass to even want to try. The missus is now happy that she can quickly lock and unlock the door now when in the house.

They had a good attempt at chiselling the lock out from the inside when I got burgled, hardwood door and frame with a 5 lever mortice lock beat them so they had get what they could through a window.

Like said all we can do is slow them down or make our neighbours present an easier target to the professional house breaker, with a junky there is no plan or reason all they want is another fix (l once saw one try and break into a guys outbuilding in broad daylight and we were both stood in the window facing when he came over the fence). Depends which your trying to protect against

I once watched one breaking into the second-hand shop opposite work. I was the security guard at ICI at the time so swung the camera round to point at him and called plod. Was quite amusing watching them bring him out. That was the week where I'd called 999 so many times that the operator recognised my voice and called me by name before I'd introduced myself on the last call (all for incidents outside our site that we'd just seen whilst doing patrols or whatever).
