Euro Connector

Hi After reading a few reviews on the forum I have just bought an Uptime 160 mig to practise with.

Looking over the machine the gas connection inside the euro connector is off centre, I know these are cheap but just wanted to check that it shouldn't be like this before I try to fix it?

As long as the outer part of fhe hole is in the right place then it might be ok.
The seal is on the torch side and seals around the outer.

Try screwing the torch on gently and make sure it seats all the way in.
Then leak test it

My favourite is to wrap the fuse in tinfoil.

I used to make fuses like that for my 1st migwelder, i've never understood why a 13 amp plug is fused, but a 16amp and above aren't

We can blame the stupid ring main for that, 16A sockets are supposed to be fused at 16A or occasionally 20A, ring mains back in the day were 30A, now 32A, so the fuse is there to allow for small appliance cables in-between. I actually run 16A plugs on all my 240V tools and extensions, if im on a job with no 16A sockets every tool has a 13a to 16a cable with it, either .5m 3m or 5m Its a much better way of working for me.
