Nope I've never heard of them either but I've been given one to get running for some scrub/small tree removal work at the weekend, rather knacker this than the Husqvarna's cutting at low level.
No before pictures as I couldn't resist ripping into it


The exhaust was missing a nut and it was very noisy, the air filter seems to have done nothing and lots of screws and bolts were loose, it's not done much work either!



The piston looks good but the exhaust gasket had a lump missing so I had a look through my stash of spares and found an old Stihl saw gasket that fitted straight on, hmmm I wonder what saw they copied???
I cleaned the filter as best I could and added an O ring to the stub to try to seal it better.



The bar was badly gunked up and the chain was bone dry, so I cleaned that all out and reassembled.


It fired up easily and ran ok but no oil came through to the chain so I'm not sure what's wrong here but it's too late to keep playing apparently
The chain is knackered but I'll give it a lick with the files and see how it goes.
You can buy the newer version of this for about £100 new!

Its a basic china import. Flush the oil tank with petrol might clear the blockage.

my main chainsaw broke....elec....
had a guy in doing paid work in the garden.....
needed a saw quick but didn't wanna buy another good un at £400.......
Lidil had their petrol model for 125.....took a chance ....now in it's 3rd season....
best bit it has a spring assisted start so even with my athritus I can start it......
they were on offer last week at 80 so seemed rude not to buy a spare....

Chinese import it maybe, but at least it's not a clam shell design, it appears to be vertical split crankcases and separate pot.....bonus....which means it's a copy of a proper design......

My first was a McCulloch 35cc CS340, sold by lidl for £99. A Husky brand so should be ok. However after little use the carb has some issues and is not allowing fuel in from the primer. Compared to proper saws the lidl and this off brand one have very low power, painfully slow to use.

For very little more you can get a Farmertec G372XP. Mine was £159 delivered (they have offers at xmas time, normally about £260) and is a good powerful 72cc saw, although probably a bit too powerful for non professionals. They do have some smaller cheaper ones.


However favorite saw is the Echo 2511. Lightest petrol climbing saw. Today using it to reduce an ivy infested holly down to hedge level and its perfect for that sort of work. 2.5kg fully fueled and ready to cut, which is why it costs £450!

I bought these two pictured below last year.
I have two Sthil ones that I used for years, an MS250 & MS261 C, they need @JOEPRO on them as they both need a severe clean, new gaskets and other bits.
They were heavy saws and gave me tennis and golfers elbow last time I used them about 2 years ago.

Both of the new ones have been excellent, used them all last winter without any bother and they cost less than £150 each.

Rubbish picture quality of the husky!
Neither of them have given me either elbow and they still munch through wood at a good pace!

I have the Husqvarna 236 saw and find it very good for all sorts of work.

Probably as good as any other unbranded import. Cheaper than a branded bar and chain! An import bar and chain is about £23 so £40 for a new saw... I am tempted to get one for abusing.
(The farmertec for £159 was without bar and chain)
