ESAB Warrior Air Fed Mask repair and question

Hi all,

I recently picked up a good used full Easb air fed welding helmet setup. I have ordered all new filters for it and noticed the face cover/ air seal part was missing. (Helmet full set was cheap so not complaining)

I have the new face seal part today, genuine ESAB. Comes with new clips which is good. But does anyone know if the second half of the seal needs to clip on somewhere? Maybe there is a part of the helmet missing or I'm missing something obvious here

Wait, I see it now. No useful diagrams or anything online but the air seal part must sit near vertical on the helmet as I have found the back part of it I was looking for buried up in there



I am going to strip down the whole helmet and clean it all thoroughly then fit the new face seal and filters.

I sometimes use flux core wire or welding indoors at my projects and it gets smokey quick.

I have Asthma too so need to avoid that. At £50 it made sense albeit I have +£50 of new filters and seal into it since but otherwise still very cheap for a proper air mask welding setup

If it works I'd say £100 all in is a bargain

I bought my 3m adflo for similar reasons....I noticed especially when stick welding that the smoke built up pretty quick in my garage.

I also run a ceiling fan/filter to try to reduce the amount of dust floating around that eventually was covering everything!

I have the helmet all stripped down and the leather part in the washing machine. I tried polishing a small part of the helmet with my new mini m12 Milwaukee polisher and it's coming up great:

Update - Helmet all totally stripped, cleaned, polished and all back together today. Tested the lens and working 100%. All new genuine ESAB face seal, clips, inner and outer lens covers + spares.





I gave the PAPR unit a run test and it ran for 3 hours before I turned it off so no issues at all and battery is in healthy condition.

So this one is done. I did order an ESAB kit bag for this setup today so it stays clean and organised in a carry case.
