Hi all

Finally having a play with my new helmet.

Its sunny out so I put it in grind mode to stop it activating and to solar charge, except there is a led in grind mode that keeps flashing.

Any ideas how to turn it off?

I’ve Looked in the manual and nothing mentions a solar charging mode?

Any A60 owners on here?

The flashing is to tell you it's in grind mode. You turn it off by switching out of grind mode. I have an A40 Savage.

Yeah I know that. But how do I stop the screen from reacting to sunlight? Without using grind mode.

Power supply Solar cell, Battery replaceable; 2 × CR2450 lithium battery

As these batteries are non rechargeable placing it in the sun won’t charge them. The solar cell provides the power when welding to darken the panel.

I have a miller that has a similar panel and I turn that off when not in use to conserve the batteries which last approx a year with light use. I also have an older mask that does have rechargeable batteries but that doesn’t have any different modes and doesn’t have a power switch so that can benefit from spending time in the sun.

Yeah I know that. But how do I stop the screen from reacting to sunlight? Without using grind mode.

I don't know on the A60, but on the Sentinel A50 you can adjust the sensitivity and delay settings, so you could try playing around with these. Also make sure that the headgear is fitted properly.
Mine will sometimes trigger in bright sunshine, but only when it is flipped up towards the sky. Otherwise it has never been an issue.

apart from putting the helmet on grind mode (with a blinking led light draining the battery)

The helmet comes supplied with a helmet bag which is not convenient for outside welding work.
