ESAB Renegade 200 amp cordless welder?

Never heard of this welder until seeing it few minutes ago
Can weld up to 30 rods on one charge
Just interested no intention of buying

Been about for a couple of years now.
I was expecting to have heard horror stories about it destroying battries by now but iv not heard of any issues yet!

Nope lithium batteries allows to run welding machines...
They are around at least 10 years or so now
The first one I've heard about was the Fronius Akku-pocket.
Then being naturally curious I've made a thread on this forum many many years ago and discovered Lörch makes one too but you can run it both battery or main voltage, due to the external battery packs.
Wich if I remember correctly is the same design used by esab on theirs.
I believe those are huge game changing machines, elevating portability to another level without noise or poisonous gasses from an engine driven welder

We had a Lorch battery welder in each maintenance crib in our building, production stoppages were expensive so the time saved setting up a conventional welder soon paid for them.

Having half a dozen came in handy as if you started to run out of battery power you could borrow a battery from one of the others.

Century, made the cheap 120vac mig welders, came out with one IIRC 15 years ago
with a large Nicad battery.
IIRC it was only gasless flux core as well.
