Esab rebel 215ic problems

Has anyone had any issues with the Esab rebel 215ic. For some reason when I turn the unit on the fan kicks on and stays on. It’s also not allowing me to switch options between settings from mig, stick, or tig.

Not had any problems.
I wonder if the machine thinks it is welding?
Is the jumper lead in the right place?
What process is it stuck in at the moment?

Not had the fan sticking on, but did have a weird fault where the centre jog wheel didn’t want to select wire diameter at the weekend.

Turned it off and back on again, which seemed to cure it.

Only glitched due to input power issues. Figured out it was when our electric car was charging.

It is stuck on stick. And the only thing I could change is the volt.

I take it you been changing the actual plugs round too? But yeah that does sound weird. It still welds on stick right? How long have you had it?

Board has likely died I’m afraid. If it’s in warranty they’ll fix it.

I am pretty sure the fan does a power on test then turns off. After that it only comes on when you pull the mig trigger or press the tig button.
I dont remember but as there is no button/switch for stick mode it might come on when stick is selected in which case the fan running constantly might be normal.

Have you got the EM or the EMP?
(Emp had the colour display screen)

Well on the emp the fan only runs as soon you start welding and intill its cooled down the power supply to reset the duty cycle. So it shouldn't have the fan running all the time when he is not even welding. EM or emp.. Fan dont spin up on power up as well

Hi guys.....I have a problem also with my 215ic.
Sometimes when I tig or mig with me 215ic it seems like it runs away like the amps just take off on their own and shoot way to high. Anyone else has this happen??? Please help..

Did you ever get the fan problem sorted on your rebel repaired? Mine has decided to die today with the same symptoms!!
