It's worth mentioning though that the digital display is an optional extra. The screen on the front panel is just a cover for a blanking plate - there are no numbers in there!

I've just realised that the murex version must come with the meter as standard, as it's not listed as an option and the brochure/pdf doesn't say it's an option like the esab one, they also cost about £60-70 more from the same suppliers, so I guess that's what it is.

Yep - sure am! I've just been in the garage welding up some 12mm bar and had to turn the heat control down a bit as it was burning it away! It's surprisingly powerful for a little box!

yeah just got a new liner and roll of wire on my topmig too... I'm in no hurry haha i've been on the point of buying a new mig for ages haha, the sip is annoying.. if that is what it is I'd probably try to get the esab with the meter for what the murex costs haha then it'd match my tig gunna look at a few other ones too though lorch looks nice
