Hey,
I just bought a Esab Aristotig DTD 250 AC/DC tig machine on Ebay.de. After looking for a good AC/DC machine from the big brands i decided to go for a second hand machine. This one has a water cooled torch, pulse function, 250 Ampere, inverter based, 400V 3-phase input etc etc.
Having worked with these machines for some time (welding course) i already know that they are very nice (imho), but i need some input on checking the condition. If the machine isn't as good as it is described i could cancel the sale.
The ebay ad says it is in good usable condition. But i need to check that when i am going to pick the machine up.
Do you know of any weak points of these machines?
How should i test it? (AC/DC/pulse/mma/tig etc etc?).
Any other advice when checking a second hand welding machine?
The machine costs 900 euro so it is quite a large sum for me (still in school) but a lot better than a brand new one (i wonder what such a Esab costs new haha).
And i thought that this would be a better choice than a brand new Highweld Chinese inverter for the same kind of money (already have a highweld plasmacutter and that works fine though)
It comes with the torch, ground cable, water cooler, cart, manual, pressure regulator. i suppose that is what it should come with? (already have a shield and a 20L bottle of argon..)
How is your experience with this machine?
Thanks in advance!
JW
btw: here is a pic of the machine that i bought:
