ERP 150 mig

Hi all

I bought a very old ERP 150 mig welder cheap off ebay last year.. lol. Im a slow worker. Anyway I finally got it working after fitting it with a new euro torch and getting a bottle sorted for it.

It seems to be working fine.
The question really is, should the fan start running as soon as I plug it in? Or should it come on when I turn the power knob on, on the front of the machine? Mine starts to run as soon as I plug it into the mains, regardless of whether its actually switched on on the front or not.

Secondly. Does anyone know where can I get the little power light from that indicates that the machine is turned on, mine doesn't work.

the light you refer to isnt a power light it only comes on when the welder overheats

i think the fan runs on mine regardless of power switch position but cant remember i havnt used it since i got it working i had it given so fixed it to use as a spare

Mmmm Ok thanks again snooper.
It made me wonder if it should be like that anyway else it wouldnt really get much cooling if the fans switches off with the power on off switch.
