So the guy in the thread earlier (Depaugie) who states he has collets upto 30mm is mistaken?
Oh and I've already bought the chuck the bearing nuts are available separately. It does seem like a good idea to separate the axial movement of the collet from the rotation of the nut.

Even more confusing. I only have 10 collets. But the biggest one seemed fairly large and smallest fairly small. .....more investigation needed. Lol

Thanks for the tip and clarification. Will be investing.
My horizontal mill is on a 50 taper, I plan to get an Er40 chuck for that so the larger size collets would be handy to run upto 30mm shanks on that.
