I am just pondering here. I opened up my Plasma cutter the other day as there was something not quite right with it..... OH MY!!

There was metal dust everywhere in it. I've had it for a year and looking at the ****e am surprised it still works. Metal dust laid across the pcbs it seems a short circuit waiting to happen.

So it brings me on then - those paper dust masks They must sell stuff like that on a roll. Industrial sized coffee filter lol. Or a very low micron paint booth filter.

Lets have some ideas. I got away lucky this time a quick blow with the compressor and it worked fine again

The plan would be to fix them across the louvres and fans on welders, plasma and stereo

Air conditioning filters. From cheap fiberglass ones to pleated ones.

I've used those carbon filers for the HEPA filters.

To control dust and overspray, I have a 20" box fan I tape those 20x20" Filtrete HVAC filters to. Really keeps the dust down. I took pictures on my trailer build. You could see the box fan filter solid red with primer then in a later picture black with final coat.

The box fan just died after 20 years. Picked up another and a new 20x20 filter for about $20.

Edit: various fabrics will work. I have used the batting used for quilts.

if you read the thread CJ posted, you'll see I used wadding for soft furnishings. cheap as chips and works

I use that for odd shaped compressor air filters, works perfectly.

Found some extractor hood paper in the kitchen so snuck it off to the workshop to sort the dust problem out once and for all. Just need to make a couple of frames now to hold them in.
