Apart from saying that it contains xylene, the label isn't very helpful. I looked for a health & safety data sheet on the suppliers website, but it didn't have one for the activator.
If no spec sheet is on the maker's website I'd ask them re that specific product and not trust to a general yes/no for all epoxies.
The Lechler I use appears not to from the spec sheet, but I treat it as any 2k just the same. Some sources say skin penetration is not an issue (see other post on here) but the spec sheet for my PPG says it is, so again I go on the caution side of things.
most do however, if you visit the house of color website and download thier tech manual (free). they do 2 epoxy primers 1 is iso based the other kda200 or kda 2000 isnt its what i use hth
In Australia, it is a legal requirement that any business selling or using hazardous products MUST have material safety datasheets (MSDS) available for those products.
Your paint supplier/shop MUST be able to produce an MSDS for any paint/hardener that they sell you.
In the MSDS you will find a listing of all the hazardous chemicals/components of the product, as well as recommended safety precautions.
As always though: err on the side of caution. Even if it doesn't contain isocyanates; do you really want to be breathing in the chemical cr*p that they put in paints to make them pretty, shiny colours that dry quickly and dry to a hard, durable surface!!?? I sure as hell don't!
I sent the paint supplier an Email asking what is in the paint, so hopefully I will know for sure soon.
I wouldn't want to touch anything with isocyanates in no matter what mask I was using, but if the paint was iso-free I'd be happy to use it but would still be careful.
Lechler sheets are on the web, if you have the product number you can hunt them down.
Personally I want to see spec sheets rather than spoken word, they come direct from the maker so must be the best source. Although I wonder if the chemical names alone might not be enough to say what's in them, if that makes sense.
Like this one doesn't mention iso's but I'll still cover up... http://www.hex.co.uk/MSDS/lechler/en29370.pdf
