The previous owner of my car installed an LPG tank in the spare wheel well, cutting a 3" circular hole which I now want to weld shut. Trouble is, the edge has gone crusty (he didn't use any zinc primer, let alone sealant on the hole) and needs to be enlarged to get rid of the rot.
The circular hole saws I have use a drill bit in the centre to locate the saw and stop it skidding around the surface being cut, but without anything there for me to drill into, how can I use a circular saw to make a round hole bigger? Or should I attempt it with a bigger tool?
