Engineers level - hire

Wanting to hire a level that's accurate to 0.01mm/m, it's for levelling a folder....not 100% sure what the differences are between different types but it says in the manual to use one accurate to 0.01mm/m

It's only for one job so thinking hiring would be better...can anyone recommend a company that would send/collect it as part of the hire?

Borrow one. Someone nearby must have one they could lend you for a job.

ActuallyI have a vial in the workshop I'll check the spec of it.

Ok I've checked the numbers and the level they specify is stupidly sensitive. That's a 2 arcsecond level. My best engineer's level is 0.0005"/foot which is 8.6 arcseconds and if I set that on a machine then walk around the machine it will move the bubble just from my body weight bending the floor slab. I can't see any reason to need that level of sensitivity.

hmm... I don't know much about them, I'll need to check the manual tomorrow, maybe I've got the figures wrong.....or maybe they just put that in the manual to cover themselves. A decent standard spirit level might be good enough!

If it's 0.1mm/m then I can help you with that. I have a handful of 20 arcsecond vials here.

Thanks Pete, I'll check tomorrow and let you know what it says...it states the imperial accuracy in the book too but I really can't remember

Looks like it's me that's the rocket.
It's 0.1mm per m. Or 0.001 inch per ft

No mention in the manual...It doesn’t need to bridge any gaps or fit in any tight space so don’t think it matters too much?

I made you a little 4" level, 20 arcsecond sensitivity (0.1mm/m).
