Always pleased to help
Out of principle I’d of done exactly the same thing and rewelded it properly. Not because I was frightened of it falling apart but more because I’d want it right.Oh I know that some bad looking welds can be good and some good looking welds can be bad. But it’s only cost me the powder coating to go over the welds and I feel more confident. I may take it to my old works when it’s finished with and put it on the load test rig I would be rather interested myself to see the failure. As I said I would of paid £500 for a good one but didn’t see any choices to buy a good one. I didn’t have time to check out my machine mart hoist today but if it’s any bigger etc I will bring that home to do the job. I’m astounded at the price I think it was 125 delivered from amazon prime, but the same unit can be had for 85 if your prepared to wait.
Thanks for everyone comments it’s been interesting.
Regards Chris

Either that or a milling machine for sale spares or repairs. As long as it doesn’t break Saturday with my milling machine hanging off it I don’t care. So if you don’t here from me again there a engine hoist for sale in Sheffield. Only used once.
I think that's the best thing I've read all day!Have a draper 2 tonne engine crane which held up a vivaro from its injector with the front wheels clean off the floor
not that I condone this sort of behaviour,
(Problem was the injector still didn't move)
That doesn't surprise me! Even with the hydraulic rams they are using a lot of pressure to remove them.My mate destroyed a puller trying to remove a snapped injector on a Vivaro.
