I've been rebuilding an Alta engine for a 1952 Morris and it has no thermostat in it. The design precludes fitting one in the head so I started to look around for a means of pre-heating the engine without adding a large, unsightly plastic box under the bonnet. Are there any 240 volt units available in the UK that could be fitted through a 1.5-ish inch diameter coreplug hole? Travel Kettle element? Glow-plug conversion??? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
