I've a D1 bantam. I beat it into reliability commuting in London, was ok enough at that. After replacing just about every wearing part and every electrical gizmo. Even now, going just about as well as it ought to, it's a bit slow on anything but a B road. Would like a pre-unit 4 stroke relaxed Brit but haven't justified it yet.
The advantage though; direct lighting, no battery, a carb you can clean in minutes, and no fuel components that will degrade, barring a few inches of hose. Park it up for 6months or 6years, it'll be ready to ride in minutes.
