I had to fit some new network sockets under the reception desk at a new hospital yesterday, I was expecting to find dado trunking under the counter but instead it was custom made veneered MDF panels with the existing sockets fitted into dry wall back boxes.
Sods law says that I had taken my Bosch jigsaw out of the van to use it at home and not put it back in.
Rather than waste half a day by driving home to collect it I nipped to the nearest Screwfix and bought an Energer jigsaw for £21.99.

I wasn't expecting much for that money but I was pleasantly surprised, it has pendulum and speed control, a decent sole plate, dust extraction, tool less blade change, a 2m mains cable, a parallel fence and it even comes with a couple of blades.
It worked beautifully, the blade guide gave a decent straight cut and with a vacuum cleaner attached to the dust extraction (I had to cut the panels in situ) it was pretty much a dust free operation.
It felt light in the hand and it cut the 8 cavity back box holes out without any issues.
The only thing I thought it could do with was a trigger operated light but that was just me being picky.
All in all a good cheap jigsaw.
