To put this into context...
UK electricity prices are around 12p per kilowatt/hour. So with your TV in standby, it will cost you the princely sum of 7p per month.
Of course, if you have an office block of mobile phone chargers then it will all add up, but I suspect that most of us only care about our home electricity consumption
A 60W lamp will cost 17p a day to run, or just over £5 a month.
A 150A MIG welder would theoretically cost £14.40 to run in a day if you ran it at 100% for the full 24 hours with no breaks which, of course, isn't going to happen
I guess that if you did about 45 minutes of welding in total at the weekend, then the actual electricity cost would be around 45p!
