emulsion paint

just painted a ceiling with white emulsion paint it bloodywell stinks apparently its gone off im hoping it clears otherwise il have to re coat it

how old is the paint unless you added water to the mix before you put away its not lighty to go off that quick

i had some paint in the garage been there 6 years mixed up smelled a bit but went on allright

i normaly mix 15 percent water in paint now to make it go fartherbut only mix what i use or i throw it

i had to do a bit of touching up of the paint did not want to mix up any more so just used it it lost the smell after a few days as fresh paint does when you paint the smell i believe is in the gone off water once that evaporates should be fine

Some paints smell of ammonia could it be that?

Any chance it got frozen in storage? If paint freezes it separates out & goes very smelly!

it was in the garage and got froze its gone off so I washed the ceiling down with bleach and re coated it .
