empty co2 cylinder uses

I was offered 5/6 old empty co2 cylinders and the hoarder in me couldn't resist. So i now have these does anyone know what i could use them for? I was hoping as a cylinder for an air compressor i will have in next week or two. but thats all i can think of lol bit of a brain fart tbh

Cut the top and bottom off and use them for tube, burner chimney etc.

Cut one end off and it makes a great bell. Since you have several, cut them at different lengths and play tunes........

all sounds good troops Love the bell idea haha if i had the space that would be a defo, but sadly not. I think then its a defo i will use 1 or 2 for woodburner/stove parts. What about the compressor tank idea i think its possable but i am very inexperienced and may be missing somthing

I have a mangle like device for crushing glass and the rollers are remarkably like truncated CO2 bottles, as is the casing for the bottle smashing machine.

Local fab shop has a cut off one as a workshop bell, top half of bottle hangs inside the building with a spring loaded plunger/ringer drilled through the brick wall, Sounds great and loud!!

I used the 22kg CO2 cylinders ( had to weld together some 16kg as i was short ) to make the uprights for my workshop, oh and a few gate posts, also half made a onboard air tank for my off roader.

Don't know what you mean, there mine

think there's not much point in using as part of a compressor system as wouldn't hold that much so i think i may make some mad door bell/ wind-chime haha. Any good references for emptying, removing valves etc and purging cylinders? im obv amateur and don't need any SCUD Rockets coming out of the back of my wooden garage lol

With regards emptying them, just pop them outside and open the valve. With regards to purging/flushing, they need none.

Best done with the regulator in place, you'll get a 50 bar jet of gas if there's any liquid left in it, plus the risk of freeze burns.

If it's the type I'm thinking of, the valve usually has the adjuster handwheel on the valve assembly itself, rather than a separate regulator assembly. I could be envisaging the wrong type of canister though.
