Empty bottle?

Hi All,

Ive just gone to use my welder for the first time in a year or so and it appears all my welding gas has gone? The valve was closed, but all my gas has vanished

When i turn the valve, nothing happens, could i just have a jammed valve?

Disposable or refillable? If it's disposable, remove the regulator and if the pin is sat well below the top of the threads it's empty. The pin will also probably rattle if you shake the cylinder.
If it's refillable then remove the regulator, carefully open the cylinder valve slightly (pointing the outlet away from you of course) and see if gas comes out.

Thanks for the reply. Its a refillable bottle and nothing comes out at all once the regulator is removed. Looking into the valve nothing seems to be moving at all? :S

It does sound like it's probably empty.

yep you dont want to look into the valve i opened a valve on a pub bottle while holding the bottle and the only thing that kept me upright was the wall i was pushed into and a door handle i managed to grab onto i also managed to hang onto the bottle with my other hand so i cant see your eyes remaining in your head if you look into the valve and open it
