I've seen this posted on forums before, not being funny, but is there really any point? It's not gonna save your life, and the police can already find out who your relatives are if needs be

How? DNA?
If the only i.d. you have on you is your mobile phone then it's a 8loody good idea. I've had ICE numbers in my phone for ages.

Actually I got Mr Rats to get a dog tag engraved with my phone number which he attaches to the zip tag on his cycling jacket (mainly cos he's as likely as not to be carrying a mobile - if at all - with a flat battery). He doesn't carry his wallet or anything when he's cycling so there's not much for the police to go on and it might seem weird but I'd quite like to know asap if the ole git was hurt.

He was knocked off his cycle by a car once and broke his ankle pretty badly (very lucky he wasn't killed), I was out, he doesn't know my mobile number (pre dog-tag) didn't have his mobile with him and had to be taken to hospital - they wouldn't have brought him home, not for just an ankle. Fortunately he was only 200yds from home so was able to get the ambulance to drive back up the road and send in one of the drivers with instructions on where his phone was! Hence the dog tag. (Also helpful if I lose him).

Well my wallet has numerous id's and bank cards in it, and I can't remember the last time I left the house without it
Also all my vehicles are registered in my name (and my van is sign written!) so a quick check over the police radio would reveal my home address.
If I was involved in a life threating accident I can't see my phone coming out in working order. And if there's an accident involving more than 1 person they have no idea who is who unlike with photo ids

False sense of security, if you're worried about this kinda stuff you should carry photo id (listing medical conditions) or a "dog tag" type of necklace/bracelet

Scarecrow - that chick talking dirty isn't the same as the one in the pic mate. Be warned, it's just a fantasy, she's really doing the ironing and putting her hand over the mouthpiece to scream at the kids, the old boiler. And it's not you gets to listen - it's the paramedic (likely as not they'll appreciate it though)
