Had a dentist appointment this afternoon and it was persisting down !
As I was walking from the car to the entrance of the dentist, a distance of no more than 10 mtrs, I slipped and fell
Literally, as the saying goes, flat on my face
I actually felt my nose hit the ground !
My right foot slipped on a metal soak away cover and as I struggled to maintain stability I went from right to left, at the last moment putting my left hand out in an attempt to prevent the slam dunk ! And thats where the problem is !
During the dental work I could feel my wrist griping more and more about it's misfortune, so when I left I decided to pop into a local community hospital that conveniently opened recently.
They have a minor injuries unit, like a mini A&E. Was seen almost immediately.
After an examination, which seemed to reveal my thumb joint as the likely culprit, I was given an X-Ray. Result was negative for broken bones, so they deduced it must be a pulled ligament. A thumb splint was applied and off I went.
That was at about 3.30pm. Have had to remove the splint as it was causing a pressure pain.
Now though, my wrist is hurting like a mofo !! The pain is bad if I attempt to move it in any direction but even when not moved it still hurts !
I'll be going back in the moring if it doesn't improve.
What a stupid thing, something as simple as a dentist appointment turns into a RPITA !!
