Email provider

Plusnet (after I've been with them for 21 years!!!), have recently told me that they will no longer be providing email facilities.

I'm looking for an email "service".

What I need:

IMAP server
All emails which go to <...>@domain.name go into same mail box, which are then processed by my local system.

(Most "email providers" only allow one email address, and extras have to be paid for, but I give each company I deal with a different email address for filtering purposes - and to trace who is spamming me)

I want an off-site server, rather than running one "in-house" for reliability - my internet connection is a bit flaky at times.

Any recommendations?

I've recently moved my web site and email hosting to "Mythic Beasts" as I'd read some good write-ups on their service. I was with 1&1 / Ionos, I'd never had any trouble but the only way they're cheap is if I take out a "special offer" subscription, and then remember to cancel it and take out a new one before it auto-renews to full price, and re-upload the web site and configure the email addresses each time. MB were dearer than the special offer price, but less expensive than I've paid for the last 12 months because I missed the cut-off date. The changeover was smooth and I've had no trouble since moving. The web site might be a little quicker, but it's very basic so it was pretty quick to start with.

I did notice that they do email-only contracts for a couple of pounds a month, less if you pay by the year. They do say unlimited IMAP / POP3 addresses, but I'm not sure about the exact configuration. Their support is all done by email, and when I had a question prior to taking out a deal with them, the response was pretty fast.

I've found that Google's Workspace solution is the best, hands down. It's the business version of the GMail suite. It's reliable, relatively easy to use, tends to be ahead of the game. There's a monthly fee though.

For cheaper options I've used Ionos (was 1and1).

Another vote for mythic beasts, used them for a while. They are simple, good and cheap.

I always fear that yahoo will stop doing this - I can never figure out whats in it for them - i never log on via their website as its all linked to my various outlook programmes but I use the account for a number of things that i would miss if they stopped.

I ought to back up and save the content more regularly really!
