Elliott progress No1 S quill return spring housing

Good evening, I’m currently restoring an Elliott progress 1S pillar drill and it’s in good order except for a small bit frustrating bit. Does anyone know where I can either get a replacement quill return spring housing and cover (I’ve exhausted eBay/gate machinery etc) or the dimensions/measurements of the component so I can get one made. The part number in the manual is 113-54-C. Number 5 on the attached list.

One option might be to try a different manufacture's spring housing.

There is a Meddings spring cover housing on eBay.

The spring housing and spring cover are the same as for the 2G(S) - the spring itself is a different part no. I could measure basic dimension from my 2G.

The housing is fairly straight forward and could be 3D printed as a last resort/interim solution - or even machined. The cover is just a plate. Various coil springs available and a certain amount of adjustment is available on the housing.

Will do, may not be till tomorrow evening. Do you use 3D CAD software?

I've owned drills where the spring cover was replaced with a jam jar lid. Worked fine but maybe not the most elegant especially after fine tuning with a hammer.

I don’t think it’s anything fancy, you could just use a sheet of ally cut to the right shape (maybe not if your cuttings anything like mine!!) I can get a pic and some dimension from mine if you need??
