Couple of issues. I am looking at RS and found what I think I need BUT they are two different item numbers and prices and yet they both seem identical. I dont want to grab them if one of them is wrong.


I also am a little confused as to the pins and plastic holders that I need to fit these. I would have like screw fixing but I dont think they do 2.54 Pitch. The smallest I have is 3.5

Edit.. I have these crimpers


and believe I purchased them for the 3D printing connectors. But they do 3 sizes. What determines the size. The pins or the wire gauge ?

Check the datasheets for pin lengths that could be the difference

With regard the sockets/housings, these are usually referred to as Dupont connectors a search on ebay should find some pre-crimped leads. Failing that, Molex KK (I think) are compatible but the crimp tools can be quite specific - to both the terminal design and the gauge

It is possible to get 2.54mm pitch screw terminal blocks e.g. :

They also list similar from other manufacturers and spring loaded types as well.

Brilliant that will help immensely with what I am doing.

I still need to find the single dupont connectors but RS do not list dupont! The Molex they list are also not in singles.

No I can find them on ebay but I am ordering the screw connecters highlighted above from RS and I get free next day delivery..so would like some from there if I could.

I Think I found out why no one gets them from RS.....all this online buying is getting silly and expensive now.
