Lets start by ignoring that this LED work lamp advertises that it's 10 watts but only runs 2.5watts. I also found that it is using a resistor to reduce the voltage from the battery to the LED.
I like this light and fancy upgrading it a bit, starting with a better controller so that it's not burning off battery life with a resistor. Is this the kind of controller that I should be using ? The eBay description says it controls the current. What exactly should be controlled, is it the voltage or current? And is PWM the best way?
