Anyone ever used 'em?
Got to thinking about them the other day as it seems everytime i use a box and pan i spend what feels like forever adjusting the thing as whoever used it last was working with material of a very different thickness etc. I assumed they were a fairly recent thing but it turns out they've existed for decades, being patented in the seventies which left me wondering why they seem so rare?
When i first saw the Baileigh version the only thing that jumped out as being potentionally a bit mickey mouse was the clamping beam set back adjusters. Vid of the Baileigh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWvMW1Zxoyc and one of the origional Magnabend (appears to available through Chester tools) which is more in depth and demos more useful capabilities... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OipSiPSRti8
Google also through out this http://aaybee.com.au/Magnabend/Magnabend%20Homepage.html which is a series of articles by the inventer including the origonal patents, those funky hinges and instructions to build your own

looks a very useful tool, wouldn't have thought that pyramid should fold on the baleigh video with such a small clamp piece...looks a lot easier than the edwards i used to use
.....I could offer a good home (free!) to your old folder H.R...
just short of £2k is a bit rich for me though
) for what you get and the possibilies of the machine.
I now want one, and as my wife is quick to inform me, whatever I want I end up getting

Yes, a Magnabend, about 15yrs ago, very impressive (but expensive) - allows you to bend shapes you couldn't do in a 'normal' folder.
