it was sat on top of hotplate on the top of cooker left turned on and the power came back on

Loss of power is a regular winter event in our wee village and, quite frankly, I find them most enjoyable... but I appreciate ours tend to be several hours at most, maybe overnight. I do feel for those even more remote that suffer several day's worth.
