What rating is the isolator, and will it be required for on load isolation, if so is it rated for that.

yes a 3hp 3 phase motor will only be pulliing about 5 amps each phase

Ok lets test you. lol I have a 3 phase motor and remote switch. Its actually a linishing head. When I press the green button once nothing happens..............if I press it several times the motor starts but stops as soon as I stop pressing it. However if I press constantly until the motor gets up to full speed it then works on its own....any ideas??thanks but no thanks theres folks on here that know a lot more than i do

However if I press constantly until the motor gets up to full speed it then works on its own....any ideas??
yeah, its knackered lol.
can you hear the contactor clicking when you press it and it works? and then click again when you lift your finger?
I think so its been a while since I used it! whats knackered switch or motor.

well it sounds like the motor is ok, as it runs, the contactor just allows power to the motor, so if it runs I would assume it the switching, however I have seen weirder things happen that should be down to switching and ended up being a motor

soz i dont do psychic readings. my test meters dont work over the internet and id be only guessing .as it could be any number of thingslol It was more to ask how many things could it be. As its 3 phase its alien to me. lol If it could only be s witch that would have been an option. It works for me so I am not too bothered but thought I would ask.

it would depend on the size of the motor to what starter u have .up to 3hp would be a direct on line starter any larger would be a star deltalol It was more to ask how many things could it be. As its 3 phase its alien to me. lol If it could only be s witch that would have been an option. It works for me so I am not too bothered but thought I would ask.
