there deeper than a standard socket and can be a pig to fit if the box isn't set back

Mind their 440 stuff is just brill......
Here we're stuck with local elec sockets n stuff....quite poorly designe, very brittle plastic....
OR there's LeGrande...looks good but made from cheese "Gromit".....
small price to pay for living in paradise I guess.....
Stripped out all the 3phase gear from the old place to use here.....so glad I did......
and I wont get into fuse /RCD boards......

the other sockets I wont fit are the flat plate ones the boxes have to be set back at least an 8th of an inch or the plate wont go backso on refits there useless as most boxes are slightly stuck out . conventional plates have a bit of overlap and can be fitted no problem
Had that last week while testing a flat, flat plate switches sticking off the wall as the back boxes were too shallow. Gave them a code 3 as she was good looking.....

All you need to do is sit on the floor, push it back with your feet and have a mate screw it up

MK were once the gold standard but absolute rubbish now. Crabtree were reasonable but I've not used them in years.
BG are OK, but they are cheap and you can tell. I've actually had decent luck with the LAP stuff so far, but it is a mixed bag to be sure.
Currently, I quite like Click Mode or Schneider Lisse for the price and quality.
Avoid CED like the plague.

the other ones to avoid are the flat plate ones with the clip on faceplates . they not only don't fit easily and twist when the plaster face is wonky and u have to caulk them on after trying for 20 minutes to fit them to no avail

Heel and toe method for fitting tight car radios.
Over the last few years as we've been decorating the house I've replaced the 30yr old mk stuff with new, cant say I've ever had a problem fitting them and pretty sure its all been labelled made in uk, this one definitely is..
Note that it just says 'UK', not 'Made in UK'
Record vices used to have 'Made in England' cast into them coz that's where they were made, when they were bought over by Irwin it just said 'Record England' on them and they were made in China!
It says 'made in uk' above the earth terminal.
I know what you mean about conning folk though, I used work for a large knitwear company and they used to make a small amount of yarn. That would be sent abroad to sweat shops, mixed with a lot of cheap yarn from anywhere, woven into fabrics and ultimately garments. Then labelled and sold as produced in Scotland...

Fitting sockets to the new summerhouse and I had a spare MK double socket so figured I may as well use that. NOOOOOO..... as per my previous experiences with MK, the terminals are like having a needle-width screw in a bucket. No way to get the cables snug even after twisting them (which I hate doing), so in the bin and a couple of BGs ordered from Amazon.
How can a company like MK continue to get this so wrong?
