Electrical Connector Identification

Hello everyone,

I am working on a reverse engineering project that is utilizing a brass electrical connector post (Seen in Attachment) for an electrical quick coupling system. I was told by the client that this connector is used on welders... Aaaaand that's all I've got...
I'm not sure what type of welding this connector would be used for, if at all. At this point I am at a bit of a loss as to how to go about identifying this connector. That is where you all come in
Does anyone have any information regarding this electrical connector post? (Useful info: Type of welding where you might find one of these, name/type of connector, and honestly anything that you deem relevant or potentially helpful)

could you go round the problem by updating both parts of the connector to dinse or something else suitable for the current

Yes, but there isn't currently any issues with the electrical coupling system design. The only issue is locating suppliers for all of the purchased parts. If that cant happen then yes, an update and redesign are in order.

An end view would be useful, the slots make it look like a collet?

That end will be the sprung portion which slips into the socket, like a banana plug. If you look at the other end, where the holes are, there's some knurling on the body. That suggests that's just the centre pin from some moulded connector.
