electric wall heaters

I need to fit some electric wall heaters in my flat as its cold and no gas here.
I want something that will last longer than the £25 quid jobbies that I last had.
Better if it wan run off a 13amp plug too.

Have you considered Oil filled radiators? Dimplex are good for those.

oil filled are lighty th cheapest but require to be switched on way before you need them as they take a while to heat up but a lot cheaper than fan heaters to run

I have 2 oil filled floor standing radiators already actually. Do the sell the oil filled ones as a wall mountable unit?

Heater shop.com had the cheapest last time I bought some.

buy bigger the better you can always turn them down but not hotter than they can produce

they look great for the money, I am planning on renting the flat out so I think wall mounted would look so much better than the floor standing ones on wheels I have

not that i know the regs but im sure if your providing the units they need to be wall mounted floor standing are a nono ?

Don't be fooled by claims of amazing efficiency from expensive brands, electric heating elements are as near perfect efficiency as possible, even the cheapest of cheap ones.

If the heaters are going to be plugged in to sockets be careful you don't create a situation where the circuit could be overloaded if the tenant turns them all on at once.
I'd also suggest limiting them to a maximum of 2kW if they are to be plugged in, a lot of sockets and plugs these days aren't up to the task of supplying the full 13A for long periods of time.

Mount the wall heaters as low as possible, else you will have cold feet. We stayed in a holiday let that had wall panel heaters 3 feet off the ground. Not just cold feet, but everything was cold when sitting on the sofa, apart from our heads!! We ended up using a floor standing fan lying on its side, pointing upwards, to stir the air up.

I've been most impressed with infra red panel heaters, very pleasant heat from them. They heat the items in the room rather than the air and relatively low wattage heaters seem to do a decent job in rooms where higher wattage fan heaters were previously.
