that still implies that theres a 2 tier law its either one rule for all or its not fit for purpose and anyone has the right to goto court and fight against it
there is no classification and therefore there is no law for an ebike or escooter
taking the action of attaching it to a motorbike is not fit for purpose within the law as its neither a motor gas generated vehicle
You're correct - there are two tiers of law here. For you and me, we cannot ride an e-scooter that we own. But certain companies in the UK have an exemption to provide rental scooters in trial areas.that still implies that theres a 2 tier law its either one rule for all or its not fit for purpose ...

There are tons of classification and laws that address bicycles and electronic bikes, which are detailed in the article I linked to.
So there is a very clear definition of the law when it comes to both ebikes and escooters (my previous link - PELVs).

SO This is where it gets confusing when does a Motorbike then become a Bike with an Electric motor because sure as eggs is eggs there will soon be bikes without pedals.

I suspect (but have no data to back it up) increased e scooter use would result in an increase in at least injuries, if not deaths if people who scooted would have walked or taken public transport. But a decrease if they displaced car use. Pretty hard to measure/estimate but maybe someone has had a go...?

They find the injury rate is much higher.
Not read every page, but my thoughts are that is now even more important to get a dash cam. I have one at the front and (often) to the rear. A cheapie at the rear, but it works - until it falls off. I’m going to glue it on.
