Are they just grinders? they seem to look like em and was pondering to buy one but if thats alls they're? then i just need to buy the polishing heads for me Aldi super duper grinder.

Is the start up the same as the grinder or more quiet? this grinder seems to have a chugging start up ie noisy but thats expected of a grinder i think?

No mate they are slower and have a soft start or you would have a kipper full of wax or polish...i have one you could borrow to save buying for 1 or 2 jobs

Polishers run at a lower speed.

I notice screwfixy doesn't do the polishers and toolstation does a crap silverline jobby anywhere else?

Dont knock the silverline polishers mate as its a tool that runs slow so its very understressed...i thought the same about mine before i bought it about 4 years ago and it still has 95% of the motor brushes left after all this time and loads of cars and vans.

dont knock the Siverline, had one for about 6 years, done loads of cars and its not failed yet, was about £60 then. was a one off at the time but has become a permanent accessory.

I bought a Silverline one, though as I think of it I've never actually used it. They were £40 at Tatton Park show last weekend, though mine was from CLB in Wrexham a couple of years ago and cost slightly more.

Bike shop has had a Siverline polisher for about 6 years now and it's never faltered, gets used lots.

I've been looking at exactly the same things myself and have just about decided to buy the Silverline one, but not the one from Toolstation, I'm buying the Silverstorm model, it has a speed regulator whilst under load and a stronger 1500w motor. Don't forget these aren't DA polishers, they're rotary ones, control if my research is to be believed is everything with one of these. For about a tenner more I think it's going to be worth it and comes with a 3 year warranty as standard not the 1 year on the DIY Silverline range.

I didn't think it was bad - a "proper" make was a lot dearer at the time according to some of the posts on "Detailing World" which I was looking at more frequently back then. It's not going to break down at the moment, but even if it does, it's not the end of the world and the first thing to go will probably be the brushes. I had a lot of enthusiasm for getting rid of some of the small scratches on my daily driver but never quite got around to it.

Yes they are good, I have the Deltalyo/Kestrel rotary.

Typical,got to order it,but I found another supplier in green lane liverpool selling both models at £60+vat ie £72 odd.

whats the difference between both models?

Rotary spins round concentrically and is a machine more suited to professional use, i.e. take care as it can do more work in less time.

Dual action spins round and also has a small orbit. Less likely to do damage by virtue of it being a less effective removal. Also makes your arms vibrate!
