Electric oven taking longer to heat up.

Our cooker has started to take a LOT longer to heat up to temperature. Once it reaches desired point then no problem with thermostat maintaining. Fan working OK. Items still cooked OK,
I assume element at fault but would have thought they fail 100% so am perplexed.
Any suggestions ?

May have more than one element, depending how they are configured. One is probably still working, one failed?

Definitely a dud element.

If it’s a fan oven they usually have the element wrapped around the fan and it’s only the one.

If it’s a conventional they sometimes have an element at the top and another at the bottom, there’s usually an option to switch both or just the bottom one, maybe one has failed.

Only ever known them to fail completely, unless of course it’s a twin element then just one can fail.

Dodgy element connection? They are only Lucar / Faston tabs.

Doh.
Just got down on my knees and shone a torch into the oven - there is a second element

If or when you change the element, put clothes pegs on the leads to stop them disappearing.
