I got a 3 phase inverter from eBay. It is rated at 2.2kw and runs my lathe. The inverter is adjustable for the output voltage from 360v up to 440v volts (default is 380v). I paid about £100 from eBay some 3 years ago. So if it goes bang it owes me nothing.
Those old Hoover motors were always long lived.
I would stay away from a single phase motor as the torque on starting isn’t a patch on a 3 phase. A 400v motor will be happy on 380- 415v.
