I am hoping that Makita start selling off the older brushed motor model jigsaws before long, they seem to be working through their ranges dropping the prices of 1 or 2 items at a time. Just ordered some 1/2" impact drivers at £55 each inc VAT, these will go with the drills and smaller impact driver (for screws) they were selling off a couple of months ago.

I normally rate the lidl parkside tools but I was very disappointed with their jigsaw. Had very little use & part of the brush holder broke on the motor, just out of warranty!
I repaired it myself but I've found it impossible to cut a straight line with it & the blade wanders off square vertically!

I have a DeWalt 110V jigsaw that's been superb over the past 17 years or so. My only regret is buying the 110 version, but I needed it for site work. Nowadays it's a pita dragging out the tx to use it. I'd certainly recommend the 240 version if the same model's still available and if the internals haven't been cheapened.

The wife came home from work one year & told me she had won the Xmas raffle, a Jigsaw. Great for the grankids I thought. The prizes get given away at works Xmas party, imagine the beam on my face when handed the prize, instead of a box of pieces making up a picture of tower bridge I was given box containing a Bosch professional Jigsaw. Absolutely fantastic piece of kit & couldnt fault the price £10 quids worth of raffle tickets!
