something like this
That's the kind of thing I had in mind in post #2 - but having seen those videos, I'd not bother.

something like this
I decided not to bother with trousers. I used to crew at several music festivals and most of the chainsaw operators there didn't bother so I decided not to. I just use the head gear with visor and ear fenders and I've had basic training. I find the dangers happen from being careless, when you're just thinking about getting the job done. I try to avoid those situations.I should have had the proper trousers too, at a minimum. And yes, the visor was on a hat.
Ouch.I have only had one injury whilst sorting firewood. I am so careful with a chainsaw and dangerous tools but stupidity can hurt you in other ways.
I had some old door frames with copper draught strips. They were held on with tacks. I had ripped several off but on the last one my hand slipped! No gloves. Almost lost 4 fingers. Just missed the tendons. Stitches in fingers are very painful - not much flesh.
Ouch.
I have scars along the fingers of both my hands.
I made a ninja sword when I was 14?15? - from a car leafspring using just a hacksaw and a couple of files.
Fitted a wooden handle, but no tsuba (guard).
I lunged into a target, and my hand slipped down the blade.
I leaked... A LOT

Cant believe your attitude.
A saw doesnt have to be running to cause serious injuries. A mate fell off a log on to a saw 10foot away opened his tigh up like a tin. Straight though that big vein, there was (what seemed like) gallons of blood, everywhere
Luckly another lad was a medic, otherwise he'd of not made it to hospital.
Nice one!View attachment 115576
Milling a Sycamore butt.
Going to stick this on just so that I can shamelessly brag!
