This one at least got the look that might get me interested in electric cars

Tee Hee, Showing one's ageWith a bit of chicken wire and a pole on the roof, battery range could be eliminated, just like dodgems at the fair. And you could pay as you go, just need a greaser hanging on the pole taking your money (and short changing you).

Couldn't agree more It's like the Tesla's here, they're absolutely awesome in every aspect - the performance especially is neck breaking - but I just cannot get used to acceleration that's accompanied by silenceCool, a 500 horsepower muscle car...that sounds like a Dyson.....

In the spirit of the original, it'll only do 30 miles to a charge.

you soon get used to it.... 60k maintenance free miles in my chevy volt over the last 3 years as of yesterday... The silence, smoothness and acceleration never get dull. Tesla model X soon...Couldn't agree more It's like the Tesla's here, they're absolutely awesome in every aspect - the performance especially is neck breaking - but I just cannot get used to acceleration that's accompanied by silence
I would go for an industrial strength Scalextric type of charging system in motorways. 2 tracks, drop down slippers and you could charge on the go. Build solar farms along the sides of the motorways to reduce cable losses.
Induction charging at every road junction, car park etc. Like Tesla's broadcast power, not sure how metering would work.
I would like all ground-level car parks to have solar panels above them.
- Makes use of otherwise dead space without consuming farmland for 'solar farms'.
- Makes slightly less ugly an already ugly view.
- Keeps the sun, rain, tree sap off my car.
- Close to a point of high electricity consumption - supermarket chillers.
- Close to potential high electricity consumption - electric cars.
Still needs a lolly stick or a fag packet in the spokes to get an engine noise.
