Hi all, first and foremost, what an excellent site

Ok, picked up an elandmig 145 today with twin gauges and a half size boc argon/co2 mix bottle to boot. Nothing fancy just 6 power settings and wire speed. Looks to be a very well made machine.

Needs a new roll of 15kg 0.8 wire and I also need to source a new threaded nut for the argon gauges. The one that screws down into the argon bottle, It just will not pick up on the thread. Or I need to replace the gauges period.
I also need a new 4m liner for the euro torch as the wire left on the reel will not feed all the way through. I assume it requires a new liner? or could it just be the last dregs of wire on the reel are not letting it feed properly?

Dying to get it set up and working, so any pointers as for how to fit the euro liner for 0.8 wire and locating the parts will be much appreciated.

As for the argon bottle, anywhere I can have it refilled/exchanged without going down the route of boc rental?

No prizes for guessing where the machine came from, he tried to sell it on here a few times.
You can buy new regulator stem and nut assemblies or if it's old and tatty it may be better to simply replace the entire reg.
When you say won't feed all the way through, how far does it get? Might just be snagging at the contact tip in which case remove the tip, feed the wire through and put the tip back on. Make sure the wire is cut cleanly and doesn't have a chisel-shaped end on it as that won't help.
If the wire is nearly out it's probably best to try a new reel anyway, you may find it feeds perfectly.
If you do need a new liner, Weldequip's shop sells them so if you order one get loads of contact tips and a couple of shrouds at the same time. You'll get through a fair few tips as you practice.
The cylinder is owned by BOC so they're the only people who can exchange it for you.

If its the mig from gumtree the wire feed problem is because its just because its tied to the end of the spool and that is stopping it feeding

I picked it up from a guy down in worthing.

With a new spool of 0.8 wire, a new euro 3m torch for 0.6/0.8, and another gauge (now aquired) it should be ready for the off.

The original torch was 4m and had a red liner for larger sized wire so a miss match from the off, and in stripping it down the swan neck sheared off! so I'm slinging it.

Overall though it is clean & tidy, and well built, but just has these couple of little niggles.

How do I stand taking the bottle to a BOC stockist and asking for a refill/ exchange? Would I have to explain where I got it? and would I need to open a BOC rental account?

When the cylinder is empty you take it to a BOC agent and they'll sign you up for a new account and furnish you with a full cylinder.
Depending on how much welding you intend to do it may prove better to go down the non-rental route if you can find a supplier near you. You pay a one-off deposit for the cylinder along with a charge for the gas then each exchange cylinder only costs you for the gas, no monthly rental charges. When you take the cylinder back and don't take a full one you get your deposit back. Works out expensive for the first one but most of the money's refundable so better in the long-term for us low-volume users.

Boc? was quoted a £100 for the yearly rental, £42 odd for every exchange 'y' type bottle of argonshield universal, and £15 odd for the paperwork each time!!

Yep, that's about right.
Unfortunately the cylinder belongs to them so if you want a refill you have to pay their prices or get a cylinder from another supplier.

Anyone know much about Adams gas supplies? seem very reasonable
