Re-dipped. The flash rust basically wipes off as soon as it sees the citric. Took out the tray and rinsed under the hose, shook and hit it straight away with the hot air gun. A coat of Autotek etch primer then switched to Upol when the can ran out. Seems to limit the flash rusting this way. The lightest coat of Persian Suede on it!
Did I dream it or was there a suggestion that at this stage you can wipe down with Diet Coke, leaving it on and the phosphoric acid in it acts like a mild Jenolite?
I reckon tbh this'll be more a hang in the garage ornament than anything. A reminder that nature takes back, use it or lose it etc.
It's been bugging me as some flecks of paint here and there. Then it dawned, gold hammer finish paint. I recall wishing I'd painted it green or blue like some of the other lads did theirs.
Just got to decide on a colour for it.
