I think it is a pity Ed fell out with the show. What he said was the new producers wanted to save money by reducing the workshop content and he thought this was dumbing down. All I know is that when Ant replaced Ed, the workshop element was just as good as before.

I saw a video made by Mike who said that he had made Ed a Godfather to one of his children, which seems to suggest they were very close for some period of time. I get the impression that the show needed to evolve, and Mike was willing to do that, but Ed... who knows.

Am I right that Ant has now left and the follow up show which Mike will present will be something a bit different?

Some time ago actually Ross. Series 17 of WD has already started with Marc 'Elvis' Priestley as his sidekick. TBH, not much different to previous series'.

Ha ha, it is. I've ot too many projects in the 'started but not finished' stage at the moment. The main one being some garden work that's preventing me getting on with the car stuff.

His use of aerosol spray cans is quite something!

Rattle cans have their place, very handy for spraying up ancillary parts - I usually have a can of primer and gloss/semi gloss black on the go. I remember in one WD Edd sprayed the whole front wing of a (I think) Mustang or Capri and, no surprise, a total disaster......what an aerosol!
