I'd never heard of them until you mentioned it.Not noticed that but I have noticed they keep trying to force me onto managed payments.
Best get used to it, though:-
I don't know how it compares (It says 1.65% of total sale amount) to the current fees, as I don't know wht they are, either!

Have you ever known eBay do anything to assist sellers?
Many of my pre-defined ebay searches don't work anymore and take you to ebay.com not ebay.co.uk
Same happens if you narrow a search to 'used' or any of the other categories HOWEVER, put your cursor on the url bar and edit it to .com to .co.uk and guess what, your chosen selection happens. Their web designers have screwed up the links !

Steph sells on average ten or more items a weekend the managed payments seem to be working for us, as long as money keep appearing in my bank account I am happy.

I dunno. Half the complaints I hear are "They never favour sellers" and the other half are "They never favour buyers", soooo....
If they were really as bad as people make out they would have gone bust a long time ago. That said, as a seller I tend to use ebay for larger ticket / more exotic items (like graphics cards) and facebook marketplace for easier/cheaper things.
As an ebay buyer I have middling expectations and these are pretty much met or exceeded.

Daughter in law sold a perfume.
The buyer sent it back as it did not have a long expiry date
Said it should be 12 months.
But it was not released until August 2020 and purchased in December 2020.

I think it's just down to your experience. I've probably had half a dozen complaints as a buyer in ten years and probably 50/50 came out in my favour.
The most expensive one was the infamous Christmas Cut50 where ebay favoured the seller and I would have been out £200 if I hadn't fixed it myself.
So I'd be a clown that says they favour sellers half the time and buyers half the time

That's it? The whole reasoning? Ebay are a company that want's to make a profit, they'll push that as far as they can, and as they should.
There's idiot buyers, and there's idiot sellers. I've less than 1% of the former over about 200 or so sales. The stupidest being someone who reckoned I'd sold him a knock off drill as it didn't have SKF Dormer on the tang, only Dormer.
eBay are virtually a monopoly. So they are able to do what they like now sadly.
