I use ebay to find rare vintage and veteran motorcycle parts, bought a pair of con rods for a 1914 Motosacoche V twin last night, £17.00 plus £5.00 postage, unequal length rods on a common pin, knife and fork type, unequal length as the crank is offset to the rear of the cylinders, guy listed them as Puch split single, also found a Motosacoche NOS oversize cast iron piston advertised as unknown, possible ashtray, £5.00, already used that, last night I listed a stupid short stroke set of lowering shocks and springs for a 2001 Polo, removed them from a car my son bought for his partner, sold them today, £80.00 buy it now, will leave the money in paypal for more sh1t I want...…..

If i am (trying)<<note the word to sell a machine worth 2K there is not a hope in hell that some Muppet or chancer will walk away with my machine for £500 just because other bidders think its worth £475 and i will do what it takes to make sure i keep it Ebay is no longer the home of gentlemen and only fools think it is...its a site full of rats and you enter with your eyes wide open and the wallet tight shut until you know for sure its safe to start pressing buttons. Other people have there own views and that's fine with me

my opinion put a reserve price on it

if you shill bid by using other accounts to do it ive known both sellers account to go as well as the shill bidders account

is it worth losing 2 accounts for the price of shill bidding

or is it worth losing your account due to a friend that wants a high price because he wont put a reserve price on it

i will report shill bidders and have gone after a few of them there easy to spot why do you think ebay no longer shows you whos bid on an item as they are trying to stop you spotting shill bidders and reporting them

its certainly not for gazumping people with higher bids that still happens just through pm instead

I either have a lowest price for buy it now and make offer in mind or set the bid for what’s the lowest I will take

my mate buys rubbish cars on faceache for pennies fixEs them up and was previously selling them on eBay

since he’s been banned he’s been struggling to get rid of them

There is also the other side of his where someone bids crazy amounts and no one buys it and then they go to the seller and offer a crazy low price as it's not getting sold

This is why bid snipers exist. Enter your desired maximum bid and leave it to it. Saves having to wait at the auction's end too.

seller is using another account to inflate the price and then refusing to supply the item

ive seen both accounts not be used again

How easy is it to open an Ebay account these days? If they want to shill bid and play the system then they can't complain too much if others do it back. All it used to need was a disposable email address. They won't lose any money but the item will be unavailable while the winning bidder collects the item, and that could take a month or so.

Sellers who act like this annoy me.

This could create an unfair advantage, or cause another bidder to pay more than they should. We want to maintain a fair marketplace for all our users, and as such, shill bidding is prohibited on eBay

however its a lie as ebay wouldnt have blocked users seeing whos bidding on the items your bidding on as all you get nowadays is a number to click onto

shill bidding does happen and any second offer i refuse to buy from them as its been over inflated by another user as the price could be alot lower

i just report user and that other account for shill bidding

gazumping exists on ebay where seller gets a better offer on an item that happened with me on the homemade grinder machine i have the owner got offered a good lump sum extra than my winning bid on it

That 527 is the number of transactions not a bidder name so there is no guarantee it's the same person but it is unlikely they both have the same number.

The bit with the **in the middle is the username that you can't see.

They are most lilkely just running it up, if they are clever then it will be very difficult for ebay to prove anything. It's only when people start bidding from the same IP address or have bidders who regularly bid on their stuff

Ebay and the seller will be able to see who the bidder was, in fact ebay confirmed to me that the bidder was the same person all three times, the seller also lied to me saying that the first winner wanted it posting and the second winner was not contactable...………… I just get very annoyed when I see this sort of thing,

I have only ever bought a few things from Oxford but they are definitely now in my "last resort list", really hate this kind of thing.

dosnt matter oxfordweldingsuppliesltd shouldnt condone shill bidding on any item if they dont want to sell it for less pay the funds and put a reserve onto it

they wouldnt like to lose the ebay account but this may cost them that just for stupiderty at its best

oxfordweldingsupliesltd should consider its position people lose there accounts for shill bidding why shouldnt they lose there account now for doing the same thing
