Ebay seller refuses to post

I use my works courier UPS I get charged £6.99 Uk next working day,
I use the works bubble wrap, boxes and tape

Lucky S !!! I use Collect + for anything relatively small and upto 10kg.

I get my mate to arrange courier services through his works apc account and then pay the cost.

Probably can't be bothered with wrapping it up and going to the post office.

Ditto, too much aggro for some folks, plus which how far away is your nearest post office? There's might be 15-20+ miles on not-very-good roads.

Post Offices are now an issue. I live in the sticks and the local, village PO closed down last year because the shop owners and PO mistress wanted to retire. They knew the locals would suffer as a result of the loss of the only PO for miles, so 2 years before their retirement they tried to sell it. Despite a local action group and pleas to Royal Mail to at least keep the PO going it closed last July. Now if I need a PO I have to go 8 miles out of my way to the outskirts of town to a PO that always has a mile long Q with pesky ebayers Parking is also virtually impossible.
Hence I now use Collect + as there is a shop on my normal route. If I need a PO I try to find one en-route to somewhere else.
Then of course there is the matter of Royal Mails extortionate prices !
I want to know how the largest package mover in the country can't undercut any small private company, who offer next day tracked delivery with home collection for a fraction of the price of Royal Mail ?

I am spoilt for choice when it comes to post offices, I have three within a two mile radius of my house and a petrol station half a mile away which is a collection point for Collect +
I would still like to stay somwere a bit more rural though

Tell me about it Tigler, avoided going to post office today as i can kill three birds with one stone tomorrow. The biggy, its friggin pension day tomorrow and Thursday nothing better to do than chat and faff about.

Three post offices within 3 mile, dubiously four.


Whilst on subject of Ebay, anyone having trouble today with their certificate, same with paypal.
Also had an email from paypal supposedly complianceverifications@paypal.com wanting passport, drivers licence, Gov documentation, recent utility bill, financial statement and certificate of residence. Yeah right

I personally generally won't post most things, unless they're easily packed, or if I have a bad feeling regarding the buyer, (one example recently being where a supposedly missing packet suddenly appeared once he knew I had all the relevant postage information). If someone turns up at the door, you know they've received it so they won't trying pulling some trick, you aren't being screwed by Paypal, you aren't phaffing about trying to find suitable packing, having to trail to the P.O, fork out for postage when the remains of the money it makes after charges is in your Paypal account etc., etc. If someone wants something, they have two easy options. Go for it or wait until something more local else amenable to their requirements turns up. I will occasionally digress if someone wants to send a courier and I do have suitable packaging, but otherwise nope.

The thing I find far more annoying is people still asking if you'll post something when your listing makes it extremely obvious that there's no way on earth you're willing to post it or phaff with couriers. Like someone is really going to sit there, making out a listing and thinking:

Aye, I think I'll limit my potential buyers to a minimum just so that I can then go and post it anyways, if someone happens to ask, when I could multiply my potential buyers thirty fold if I just say that in the listing now. But no, I'll go and unnecessarily screw myself out of possible profit instead.

Can you see the possible reason why people might get a bit cranky at continually being asked the postage question now?
